110th Anniversary of Kaneko Otei’s Birth

Kaneko Otei advocated the use of contemporary text and poetry in “Sho” (Japanese brush calligraphy) developed a modern calligraphy aesthetic. The 110th anniversary of his birth will be commemorated in 2016. To coincide with this anniversary the Sogen Calligraphy Association plans to promote “Sho” and “modern Sho” internationally using the Internet with “SHO Japanese Calligraphy, Kaneko Otei Virtual Museum”.
The design idea for this museum, developed by Frank la Rivière, Architects inc, aimed to create a museum experience as if one is looking at the exhibition displayed on actual walls rather than a slide show type viewing. Virtually wandering through a museum environment and discovering the beauty of the Shodo works of Kaneko Otei.

金子鷗亭生誕110年記念
バーチャル美術館計画
現在では日本の書を代表するまでに定着した「近代詩文書」。これを唱え、現代の書に発展させた金子鷗亭は平成28年、生誕110年を迎える。創玄書道会ではこれを記念して、事業を計画する。インターネットを利用して、国際的に“書”“現代の書”を世界に広め、書道文化の振興普及を目的とする。
Webサイトで「ＳＨＯ 日本の書 金子鷗亭美術館」を開館する。作品を閲覧する場合に、あたかも実際の壁面に展示されているのを見ているような演出をしたもの。
